Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Victoria) Ltd is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Teacher to join the Primary and Secondary team at Gilson College. This is a fixed-term, part-time position (0.8 FTE), commencing in Term 1, 2026.
The focus of the learning support teacher is to support the Learning Support Coordinator and the Learning Support team in the planning, delivering, and evaluating of learning programs for students with diverse learning needs and disabilities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate that they:
- Monitor and track student progress and adjust interventions as necessary to ensure that students are making progress towards their learning goals
- Maintain planning documents, accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with the learning support coordinator, classroom teachers, parents, and other stakeholders
- Utilizes critical reflection in order to improve knowledge and skills to better engage students and improve their learning
- Show a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning within the school and the wider Seventh-day Adventist school system
- Can support and actively promote, and not undermine, the Christian-based values and ethos of the College based on the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
- Have the capacity to teach the Australian curriculum in the context of the college's Christian-based ethos
- Be able to plan for and lead daily Christian-based class devotions to students
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students
- Dedication to evidence-based teaching practices and ongoing professional development
- Time management and organisational abilities
- Current VIT registration and relevant teaching qualifications
- Experience working with students across both Primary and Secondary levels, delivering targeted learning interventions, is highly valued.
Role Requirement:
- Hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Education with a postgraduate qualification in special education being preferred
- Hold Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching or be eligible to apply for registration

The salary range is $86-128k based on years of experience.
